How we can help you
Our registered massage therapy team is exceptional in their experience, education, and commitment to our clients.
Our registered massage therapists (RMT) have expertise in treating sports injuries, back pain, shoulder and neck pain, digestive issues, and the classic great relaxation massage.
There are many types of massage therapy available in Victoria and we are very fortunate to have some of the most talented and experienced (in our “unbiased” opinion) registered massage therapists on our team.
Besides being a massage therapist, our RMT is trained as an Athletic Therapist and Holistic nutritionist.
You get a unique experience on your health journey.
With us, you’re able to see one therapist for a massage but if you want exercises or eventually eat healthier for your body, you don’t have to see multiple people for that. Our clients love this unique advantage because your RMT can provide relief with a massage but when and if you’re ready to exercise or eat better, your therapist already knows you. You don’t have to see multiple people or figure out where to go. You’ve already built a relationship and they’ll have a better understanding of the approach that best suits your needs.
These are usually covered under insurance, you’ll just need to check your insurance coverage prior to your session.
What we can help you with
We’re able to help you in many ways with massage therapy. Our RMT uses an individualized plan for each person. Not all neck pain is problems stemming from the neck, sometimes it’s related to organ function and stress.
-
Pain
Our RMT is able to help with your pain. You may have headaches or migraines, neck pain, shoulder pain, low back pain, knee pain or poor posture. We're able to use gentle techniques for someone with chronic pain or hypersensitivity to massage - let us know what pressure you like
-
Injuries
Have you hurt yourself running, playing your sport, or the picking something up from the ground? From ACL injuries, rotator cuff strains, or arthritis we can help you with strained muscles or sprained ligaments or tender joints.
-
Relaxation
We can help you with tension in your shoulders, neck, back or hips? We have a premium heated massage table and an optional weighted blanket for your comfort.
-
Car accidents
Have you been involved in a car accident? We can help with headaches, whiplash, low back pain, or numbness and tingling from an accident. Our RMT is approved from ICBC to offer massage therapy
-
Insurance
Are you looking for a wellness program to feel better? Having a massage every 4-6 weeks is a great start. This way you can use your benefits throughout the year and not to try to use them up in December
You’re RMT will be able to provide you with the standard of care that you’re used to with a massage but also assess limitations in your body that you may not be aware of. You’re RMT is trained in visceral manipulation, which is a gentle technique for the organs. This is great for chronic pain or tension, areas of the body that are always tight, or for when massages only give you a few days of relief.
These are often the relationships we see with the muscles to organs
- Back pain or tension = restrictions in the colon
- Right shoulder pain with or without neck pain = restrictions in the liver
- Left neck or shoulder pain = gall bladder restrictions
- cold feet = a taught ligament in the abdomen reducing blood flow to the legs
You don’t need to have digestive issues, constipation, gas, or bloating to feel the restrictions either.
Whether it’s the restrictions in the organs that create your right shoulder pain, the tension in your traps, your headache, or your back pain.
We’re able to relieve the pain you have while showing you the safe and effective exercises that you can do to strengthen or increase mobility.
Since we’re a small local business, we’re able to offer next day appointments, a convenient schedule, and the ability to develop a therapeutic relationship with your RMT.
Direct insurance billing for massage therapy is available for most plans including ICBC, Pacific Blue Cross, Great-West Life (Canada Life now), Sunlife, Chamber of Commerce, Johnston Group and more.

Using your massage therapy benefits for the first time
You’ll want to know how much coverage you have.
There are a few ways to do so
1) You can download your insurance providers app (most have them now) and access the amount of coverage you have. You may either need to call your insurance provider or HR department and ask for clarification of what you have coverage for (Do you have coverage for massage, athletic therapy, nutrition, physiotherapy, and chiropractic?)
2) How much coverage do you have and at what percentage? Commonly what we see is either a maximum amount allowed (RMT 100% up to $500) or a percentage 80% of massage is covered (for example $100 massage: insurance would pay $80 and you’d pay $20)
3) Check if you have a deductible. You may need to pay a little more the first time you use your benefits and then after that your plan comes into effect. This usually resets at the beginning of the year
Check to see if the clinic offers “Direct billing”
Direct billing is where the massage therapy clinic will charge your insurance on your behalf. The “pay out of pocket” is where you pay the clinic or therapist directly, you get a receipt, and you submit the receipt to your insurance provider either through the app or mailing it to them. The direct billing option is a convenient option for most clients because it reduces the time, energy, and stress of submitting your receipt.
P.S We offer direct billing
Call or do your own research to find out the right massage therapist for you
You will want to be as comfortable as possible with your RMT, so it’s important that you’re a right fit together. You’ll want to find out what a priority is for you.
Common considerations when choosing and RMT
1) Is it a location near you?
2) Are you not comfortable with a specific gender. While all RMT’s are well-trained and hold a high degree of professionalism, you have to be comfortable
3) Are you pregnant? You may want someone more focused on the maternity side of massage therapy – PS. we refer to other clinics for this
4) What do other people say about your possible RMT and clinic? Take a look a their testimonial page, google reviews, facebook pages, and ask around
5) Are you wanting a spa or therapeutic massage? What’s the setting that you’re wanting? Do you want a spa relaxing style massage or do you need a little bit more of a therapeutic style (maybe with a bit of relaxation).
While we’ve heard “wow” many times after a relaxation massage, we’re not a spa. If you choose us as your massage therapy clinic, we’re more of a therapeutic and relaxation clinic and not a spa
6) Is your RMT only an RMT? Do you want someone who has been practicing for 30+ years and that’s the only thing they do or do you someone with multiple designations that may lead you else where if massage may not be your best option to recover. Your massage therapist, Daryl, has been practising massage therapy for a years now but also holds designations in Athletic therapy and Holistic Nutrition. This allows him to let you know or suggest alternatives to massage if it will benefit you more. For example, he can provide you the appropriate therapeutic exercises to reduce the back or neck pain that you get so you don’t have to manage the pain with massage therapy.
Frequently asked questions
Do you direct bill insurance?
Yes! We provide direct billing to most major insurance companies and ICBC for massage therapy. We’re not able to direct bill for Athletic Therapy or Holistic Nutrition, you’ll need to check your coverage for that
Do you offer deep tissue massage
Yes! We offer deep tissue massage as part of our treatment plans. If you don’t want a deep tissue massage, we still have other techniques to get you feeling well
Do you only have 1 massage therapist?
Yes. We only have one male massage therapist. He is also certified in athletic therapy and registered in holistic nutrition
Do I need a doctors note for massage?
Not typically for your insurance plan but some require a doctors note. You’ll need to check with your insurance coverage prior to your session
Do you offer pregnancy massage?
We have many techniques for massage but we aren’t the best solution if you are pregnant and need a massage. We happily refer out Lauren Breuker at Go To Sports Therapy
