” Daryl is great at what he does. I have been to a few RMTs in Victoria and I find him to be the best so far. Daryl has a background in sports injury so that really makes a difference in the service he provides. I came to him with a shoulder/rotator cuff injury and he not only helped relieve the pain in the area, he also recommended exercises and stretches to prevent further injury and strengthen the shoulder stabilizing muscles. Highly recommended, especially if you have sports-related injuries. ”

When should you see a massage therapist and how often?

It’s important to create a game plan for your situation – reducing your stress, having a clear plan for recovery, and keeping you accountable

Well, it really depends!

It depends on what your goals are, why you’d want a massage, and how much insurance coverage you have if you don’t want to pay out of pocket.

If you’ve just hurt yourself by rolling your ankle or you’re getting knee pain running and you want to run in a 10K, you may want to have a couple of sessions a month or weekly for 4 weeks.

Now if you’re not super active but have lower back or neck pain, you might be able to get by with 1 massage once a month or every 6 weeks. If you don’t have insurance, it may be smart to just come in for an “as-needed basis” for a flare-up.

Whatever your situation is, we work within it while being open and honest with you. If you have coverage, we will create a plan with you to maximize those to reduce your “out-of-pocket’ costs. Whether you have insurance coverage or not, we’re able to show and tell you what you’re able to do to recover faster outside of your massage.

Finding the right RMT in Victoria

Finding the right RMT can be tricky!

If you look at other companies they’ll tell you to try many different therapists to “find the right one”. They don’t tell you that there are 20+ massage therapists to choose, the one you want is booked months in advanced, and you don’t know if they’ll even work out.

Treatments tailored to you

Our sessions are uniquely tailored to you and why you’re coming in, how you’re feeling that day, and your expectations

Educated & Experienced therapist

Your RMT has years of experience, thousands of hours of hands on treatment time, and has worked in National level events and athletes.

Direct billing

Let us take the stress and time out of having to contact the insurance company to get your back money.

Open and honest

Not sure if massage therapy will fully help you? We will be completely open and honest with you if massage therapy will be the right fit long-term. Our rule of thumb, if you don’t see good results within 3-5 treatments – that may not be the right technique to get you well.

” Sync Therapy is amazing! I went for my initial assessment on Friday and was blown away by Daryl’s compassion and the depth of his knowledge. He genuinely cares about making his clients feel better and goes above and beyond. I am already feeling the benefits and look forward to continuing to work with him. Thank you Daryl!! ”

4 easy steps to finding an RMT in Victoria BC

We’ve created 4 simple steps to help you find the best massage therapist in Victoria for you
STEP 1: Open Google

You will want to type one of the following in the search bar:

  • Massage Therapy Victoria
  • Massage V8V 3N5
  • RMT near me
  • Best massage therapist in Victoria
STEP 2: Review their website

The best RMT in Victoria put as much care into their website as they do their clients and their person. By reviewing their website you will get a good feel for the RMT and if they are right for you. Make sure you check out their “about” and “team” pages, this will give you a better understanding if they will be the best massage therapist for you

STEP 3: Check out their reviews

Check out the Google Business Page of a massage therapy clinic you are thinking about visiting. It is easy for someone to say they are great, it’s a different story to get other people to say great things about your RMT.

STEP 4: Call the office and ask more questions

Now that you have a basic understanding of what the clinic is about. Give them a call to make sure they fit the message that their website and GMB have been sending. You will know in a few minutes whether the office is the right one for you. Don’t be afraid to ask any questions at this time. Ask them if they are only a massage therapist, other designations, or if there’s a new client special

How to use your massage therapy benefits?

If you’re new to using your massage therapy benefits, we’ve created a helpful 3 step process
You’ll want to know how much coverage you have.

There are a few ways to do so

1) You can download your insurance providers app (most have them know) and access the amount of coverage you have. You may either need to call your insurance provider or HR department and ask for clarification of what you have coverage for (Do you have coverage for massage, athletic therapy, nutrition, physiotherapy, and chiropractic?)

2) How much coverage do you have and at what percentage? Commonly what we see is either a maximum amount allowed (RMT 100% up to $500) or a percentage 80% of massage is covered (for example $100 massage: insurance would pay $80 and you’d pay $20)

3) Check if you have a deductible. You may need to pay a little more the first time you use your benefits and then after that your plan comes into effect.

Check to see if the clinic offers “Direct billing”

Direct billing is where the massage therapy clinic will charge your insurance on your behalf. The “pay out of pocket” is where you pay the clinic or therapist directly, you get a receipt, and you submit the receipt to your insurance provider either through the app or mailing it to them. The direct billing option is a convenient option for most clients because it reduces the time, energy, and stress of submitting your receipt.

P.S We offer direct billing

Call or do your own research to find out the right massage therapist for you

You will want to be as comfortable as possible with your RMT, so it’s important that you’re a right fit together. You’ll want to find out what a priority is for you.

Common considerations when choosing and RMT

1) Is it a location near you?

2) Are you not comfortable with a specific gender. While all RMT’s are well-trained and hold a high degree of professionalism, you have to be comfortable

3) Are you pregnant? You may want someone more focused on the maternity side of massage therapy

4) What do other people say about your possible RMT and clinic? Take a look a their testimonial pagegoogle reviewsfacebook pages, and ask around

5) Are you wanting a spa or therapeutic massage? What’s the setting that you’re wanting? Do you want a spa relaxing style massage or do you need a little bit more of a therapeutic style (maybe with a bit of relaxation). If you choose us as your massage therapy clinic, we’re more of a therapeutic and relaxation but we’re not a spa

6) Is your RMT only an RMT? Do you want someone who has been practicing for 30+ years and that’s the only thing they do or do you someone with multiple designations that may lead you else where if massage may not be a huge benefit. Your massage therapist, Daryl, has been practising massage therapy for a few years now but also holds designations in Athletic therapy and Holistic Nutrition. That allows him to let you know or suggest alternatives to massage if it will benefit you more. For example, he can provide you the appropriate therapeutic exercises to reduce the back or neck pain that you get so you don’t have to manage the pain with massage therapy.
