Chronic Pain Management in Colwood

Is This You?

📅 3+ Months

Your pain has lasted longer than 3-6 months and persists longer than typical tissue healing times.

Hypersensitivity

Light touches, cold weather, or even emotional stress can trigger significant pain flare-ups.

👻 Shifting Pain

The pain seems to move or shift around your body, making it hard to pin down one specific "injured" spot.

😩 Brain Fog & Fatigue

Alongside the pain, you constantly feel exhausted, have trouble sleeping, and struggle to focus.

Central Sensitization

It's a software problem, not just hardware.

The Alarm System

When pain lasts for months, your nervous system essentially leaves the "alarm system" turned on. The brain begins amplifying normal signals into pain signals to protect you. This is called Central Sensitization. We have to treat the nervous system to turn down the alarm, not just treat the muscle, to get lasting relief.

Your Recovery Roadmap

1

The Validation

We listen to your full story. We understand the pain is real and affects your whole life.

2

The Reset

Treatments focus on lowering the alarm, not just rubbing where it hurts.

3

The Rebuild

Gradual return to activity to show your brain that movement is safe.

amazing results. I had 2 yers of shoulder and neck pain and tried chrio, massage, acupuncture, this only provided temporary relief. Darryl pin pointed where I needed support, In just one session. I no longer have chronic neck or shoulder pain. Highly recommend Sync!

I’ve been seeing Daryl at Sync Therapy in Victoria and couldn’t be happier with the care I’ve received. Daryl is incredibly knowledgeable, professional, and genuinely cares about his clients. His approach is holistic — not just focused on treating the symptoms but understanding the root causes of my pain and mobility issues. After just a few sessions, I noticed significant improvement in my chronic shoulder pain. He listens carefully, provides personalized treatment, and always offers practical advice and exercises to support my recovery between visits. The clinic environment is welcoming and professional, making each visit a positive experience. Highly recommend Daryl and Sync Therapy if you want effective, compassionate therapy that really works!

Pleasantly surprised. Honestly I didn’t know what I was in for. I found Daryl through a web-search for a deep tissue massage in my area. I walked into his office in a fair bit of pain. I have had chronic hip and lower back pain since late in my pregnancy. My kiddo just turned 2. I have tried a number of healing modalities and none came close to the kind of instant relief I experienced today. I walked out of that office feeling nearly all my pain gone and my body feeling relaxed and aligned. The treatment was very gentle and targeted my problem areas. Daryl was kind and professional and I felt at ease. I would confidently recommend his services to a friend and I will definitely be booking again. 5 enthusiast stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Common Questions

Why hasn't other therapy worked for my chronic pain?

Many therapies only address the muscle (the hardware). Chronic pain often requires treating the nervous system (the software) to turn down the volume of the pain signals.

Will I be on medication forever?

Not necessarily. As we successfully lower the nervous system's sensitivity, many patients find they can work with their doctor to reduce their reliance on pain medication.

Is it safe to exercise?

Gentle movement is actually one of the best painkillers. We help you find the "sweet spot" of activity that builds you up without causing a flare-up.

Complementary At-Home Therapies

When dealing with pain that persists for months, breaking the cycle requires targeting the nervous system directly. Integrating PEMF therapy for chronic pain is one of the strategies I suggest to help lower central sensitization. Alongside that, exploring a detailed red light therapy guide will show you how photobiomodulation aids in tissue recovery. Some patients also find systemic relief by utilizing infrared sauna blankets for soothing heat or learning about hydrogen water for inflammation to help manage whole-body oxidative stress.
