Therapeutic Massage in Colwood & Langford
Clinical, assessment-based RMT care that goes beyond relaxation to actually fix what's wrong.
Therapeutic massage is not a spa treatment — it's clinical bodywork with a measurable goal. At Sync Therapy in Colwood, every therapeutic session begins with an orthopedic assessment to identify compensations, restrictions, and the actual source of your pain before hands ever touch tissue.
Whether you're recovering from a workplace injury, managing a chronic condition, or correcting years of postural dysfunction, therapeutic massage gives your body a structured path back to full function. Serving Colwood, Langford, Esquimalt, and Greater Victoria.

What Therapeutic Massage Treats
Post-Injury Recovery
Sprains, strains, whiplash, and repetitive strain injuries leave behind scar tissue that restricts movement for years. Therapeutic massage uses cross-fibre friction and myofascial techniques to remodel this tissue and restore function.
Sprains & Strains →Chronic Pain & Tension
Neck pain, low back pain, and shoulder tension that's been present for months are the specialty of therapeutic massage. We identify the compensatory patterns maintaining the pain cycle and interrupt them systematically.
Chronic Pain Relief →Postural Correction
Forward head posture, rounded shoulders, and anterior pelvic tilt are structural issues that cause pain for years. Therapeutic massage targets the shortened muscles driving the imbalance while Athletic Therapy re-trains the movement patterns.
Postural Imbalance →Assessment Before Treatment — Every Time
Treating pain without assessment is guesswork. At Sync Therapy, Daryl performs a focused orthopedic screen before every session to confirm the structure causing your symptoms — so the treatment is always precise.
This is what separates a Registered Massage Therapist from a relaxation therapist. Your health history, active range of motion, and movement quality all inform the treatment. We document progress session-to-session so you can see results clearly.

Therapeutic Massage FAQ
What makes therapeutic massage different from a regular massage?
Therapeutic massage is goal-oriented and assessment-based. Before treatment, your RMT performs an orthopedic evaluation to identify the root cause of your pain or dysfunction. The techniques, pressure, and areas treated are chosen to produce a specific clinical outcome.
Is therapeutic massage covered by insurance in BC?
Yes. All therapeutic massage at Sync Therapy is performed by a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT), making it eligible under most extended health benefit plans in BC. We direct bill Pacific Blue Cross, Canada Life, Sun Life, Manulife, and Green Shield.
How many sessions will I need?
For acute injuries (4–6 weeks old), most clients see significant improvement in 3–5 sessions. Chronic conditions (6+ months) typically require 6–10 sessions for lasting change. Your RMT will build a care plan at your initial assessment.
Do I need a doctor's referral?
No referral is required to book at our Colwood clinic. Some insurance plans may require one for reimbursement — check your specific plan before your first visit.
