ICBC Massage Therapy

Our ICBC approved massage therapy clinic direct bills ICBC on your behalf.

This saves you time and stress while getting the treatment you need… a massage

After a motor vehicle accident (MVA) you will probably experience whiplash, headaches, neckback or recurrent pain. You may also experience changes to your mental health, which include stress, anxiety, and depression.

At Sync Therapy, our main focus is to decrease your pain and get you feeling better so you can get back to the things you love.

Being in constant pain is not fun, it not only affects your sleep, but it also has impacts on your relationships, your friends, and quality of life – It’s tough when you can’t even walk your dog!

Our ICBC recovery team consists of Massage Therapy and Athletic Therapy, which is designed to reduce your pain with massage therapy and help you recover with athletic therapy. If you start to experience nausea, inability to keep food down, or changes in bowel movements, we have a nutritionist on staff to help support you – the nutritionist isn’t covered by ICBC like athletic and massage therapy

If you’ve involved in an MVA and have reported the incident to ICBC, you qualify for care at our ICBC Rehab in Victoria, BC.

How we can help you

As of April 1, 2019, individuals who have been in a car accident no longer need pre-approval from ICBC for their healthcare treatments as long as they have an ICBC claim number.

This means you get access to services to improve your physical and mental health right away from Day 1 of your accident and up to 12 weeks after the accident.

After that date, we will work with ICBC to ensure you continue to get access to the care you need until you are at maximal recovery.

What we can help you with

Our RMT is trained in helping you reduce your pain, injuries, and discomfort all while working with ICBC to get the treatments you require. Our massage therapy team uses an individualized plan for each case.

Using massage therapy after a car accident
  • Pain

Pain and discomfort after a car accident may be the most common complaint after a car accident. The pain may be that night, the next day or even a couple weeks after the accident. Common areas of pain that we see are in the neck, shoulders, back and hips. Usually there's a disruption of sleep from this pain

  • Injuries

Whiplash, rotator cuff injuries, headaches, sciatica, disc bulges and muscle tension are among the highest symptoms that occur from an accident

  • Sleep troubles

Do you have troubles falling and staying asleep from pain? Getting a massage and reducing your muscle tension can help relax you and reduce your pain, allowing you to fall and stay asleep

  • Car accidents

Have you been involved in a car accident? We can help with headaches, whiplash, low back pain, or numbness and tingling from an accident. Our RMT is approved from ICBC to offer massage therapy

  • ICBC direct billing

You have enough stress from an accident, let us direct bill to ICBC for you. Our massage therapy clinic is approved to direct bill to ICBC

If you’ve been involved in a car accident it can be overwhelming – especially if you have never dealt with an accident before or filed a claim with ICBC.

ICBC made changes on April 1, 2019, and are scheduled to make a larger change coming May 2021. The changes are going to be client-centric, this means you get the care you deserve.

There’s more of an emphasis on your recovery, so you have easier access to massage therapy, active rehab (athletic therapy or kinesiology), physiotherapy, and chiropractic!

We can help you guide you during this often confusing process

Your massage therapist understands this process, can answer your questions, and help you recover along the way with a massage.

Daryl, your RMT, isn’t just a massage therapist but he’s also an Athletic Therapist. So once you’re feeling better and need a plan to build strength back up, he already knows your situation and can help you there too – covered by ICBC as well.

If you’ve been in a car accident and have an ICBC active claim number, you are pre-approved for 12 Massage Therapy sessions.

After a motor vehicle accident (MVA) many people experience whiplash, headaches, neck, back, extremity and even chronic pain. You may also experience changes to their mental health.

If you were involved in an MVA and have reported the incident to ICBC, you have access to massage therapy which can help you feel better.

We do suggest that you use the ICBC approved services right away after an accident, it will improve your recovery time, so it’s important to book a massage

If after the 12 sessions you need continued care, we work with you and ICBC to ensure you get the care and attention you deserve until you’re at maximal recovery.

We’re conveniently located in Downtown Victoria at 10-920 Johnson. It’s at the intersection of Quadra and Johnson in the same building as Alert First aid

How to take advantage of your ICBC benefits

First- if you’ve been injured in an accident the first step is to report your claim to ICBC. You can call them directly at ‘Dial–A-Claim’ 604-520-8222 or complete their easy online claims process.

Once you have your ICBC Insurance claim number you are eligible to start receiving Massage Therapy, Active Rehabilitation (Athletic Therapy), Physiotherapy, Chiropractic, and Acupuncture services for your injuries.

Regardless of who is at fault, all parties involved in an automobile accident are eligible for ICBC treatment benefits.

The next step is to book an assessment online or Call Us 250-812-8698 and get your treatments started right away. Our experienced recovery team will help walk you through the process of getting the necessary treatments needed to get you feeling better, fast.

We will require:

1) First and Last Name

2) ICBC Insurance Claim number and adjustor name

3) MVA Date

Our goal is to get your treatments started within a few days of your accident since this helps improve your recovery time.

You can simply make a note of your claim number and accident in our easy to fill out online forms.

You have 12 pre-approved treatments with our Massage Therapist and 12 treatments with our Athletic Therapist for ICBC active rehab, they just have to be used within 12 weeks of the incident. After that, we can work on your behalf to ask for an extension. *Please be aware that extension requests depends on the speed at which your ICBC Customer Claims Specialist (adjuster) responds to the request and may take longer than 72 hours.

If you have an ICBC claim, no matter who’s at fault, you get 12 pre-approved massage therapy sessions covered. You just need to use the 12 sessions 12 weeks after the date of the accident. We directly bill ICBC, so you don’t pay any upfront costs. Everybody recovers differently from an accident, it may require additional treatments after the 12 sessions. This is where we would work with your adjustor to figure out an effective plan

Let us take care of your health plan, paper work, and contacting ICBC. You focus what’s most important, you. Focus on your exercises, quality sleep, and quality foods to help with your recovery process
