If you’ve involved in an MVA and have reported the incident to ICBC, you qualify for care at our ICBC Rehab and Wellness Clinic in Victoria, BC.

As of April 1, 2019, individuals who have been in a car accident no longer need pre-approval from ICBC for their healthcare treatments as long as they have an ICBC claim number.

This means you get access to services to improve your physical and mental health right away from Day 1 of your accident and up to 12 weeks after the accident.

After that date, we will work with ICBC to ensure you continue to get access to the care you need until you are at maximal recovery.

What is the process for an ICBC claim?

ICBC and insurance claims can be difficult to navigate – we break it down into a simple 4 step process

It’s suggested to keep an eye on ICBC’s website for the latest information, since they’re updating and making rather large changes – most likely for your benefit. They made big changes in April 2019 and are making bigger changes for May 2021.

As of right now, these are the simple steps to follow

Step 1 - Contact ICBC

First- if you’ve been injured in an accident the first step is to report your claim to ICBC. You can call them directly at ‘Dial–A-Claim’ 604-520-8222 or complete their easy online claims process.

Once you have your ICBC Insurance claim number you are eligible to start receiving Massage Therapy, Active Rehabilitation (Athletic Therapy), Physiotherapy, Chiropractic, and Acupuncture services for your injuries.

Regardless of who is at fault, all parties involved in an automobile accident are eligible for ICBC treatment benefits.

Step 3 -Get treatment costs covered

If you have an ICBC claim, no matter who’s at fault, you get 12 pre-approved massage therapy sessions covered. You just need to use the 12 sessions 12 weeks after the date of the accident. We directly bill ICBC, so you don’t pay any upfront costs. Everybody recovers differently from an accident, it may require additional treatments after the 12 sessions. This is where we would work with your adjustor to figure out an effective plan

Step 4 - Remove the stress and focus on you

Let us take care of your health plan, paper work, and contacting ICBC. You focus what’s most important, you. Focus on your exercises, quality sleep, and quality foods to help with your recovery process
