Say Goodbye To Your Ailments And Hello To Your New Life
Holistic Nutrition is the use of everyday nutrition, eating habits, and lifestyle techniques to improve your health
Pretty simple, right?
The problem is, that medicine can sometimes miss the fact that poor nutrition is one of the major contributors to a wide range of health issues.
Most of us are aware that healthy food has many benefits to our physical and mental health and our overall wellbeing.
The volume and range of conflicting information in the media and social media is often overwhelming and just straight confusing
Working with a Registered Holistic Nutritionist (R.H.N. or a C.H.N.C) can show you the necessary dietary and lifestyle changes that are practical to you.
It can be hard to make a diet change, but given the practical tools for change, you can create lasting results
Who We Can Help
One of the great things about holistic nutrition is the approach is individualized.
We’re not hampered by guidelines, restrictions, and you are not put into a box because of your condition.
We focus on creating a healthy relationship with food, a strong and healthy digestive system, and work on the reasons for the change to create long-term results.
Food is information for the body and creating a healthy relationship only strengthens this. Counting calories isn’t a way to develop a good relationship with your food, this is why we don’t do it.
Developing a healthy relationship with foods allows you the ability to make smarter choices and not to panic when you “treat yourself” with a cookie (or box).
Having a strong digestive system is the basis for health. It’s not “You are what you eat”, it’s “You are what you digest”. The fact is that because you eat a certain food doesn’t mean you’ll digest or use it properly.
The majority of people know that they need to eat “healthier” but still don’t do it. Working on why you want to change makes that change last. If you’ve tried numerous times or there’s too much information to pick from, we can be an option for you.

What is Athletic Therapy?
Athletic Therapy is a branch of therapy that specializes in your muscles, bones, and joints. We’re able to help you recover from an injury quickly and effectively, it doesn’t matter if you’re an athlete or not! We can help you recover from a sports injury, pick up a toddler, or just from you working at a desk full-time. We do this with massage, joint mobilizations, exercise, and education! While there are many similarities with other therapeutic health professions, Athletic Therapy differs from them by specializing in musculocutaneous conditions and by holding exercise as its primary modality.
What's the difference between Athletic Therapy and Physiotherapy
Athletic Therapy and physiotherapy are very similar in terms of treatment and techniques used to treat an injury or illness. The main difference lies in their scope of practice and educational background.
An athletic therapist requires a 4-year bachelor’s degree to specialize in immediate care and prevention of musculoskeletal (muscle, bones, and joint) injuries.
On the other hand, physiotherapy is defined as the science of movement that focuses on the underlying physical issues to help recover, sustain and maximize an individual’s physical strength, mobility, function and overall well-being. In part, they seek out the root cause of an injury and treat it accordingly. This profession would require an additional 2-year Master’s degree and includes a much wider scope of training, including neurological disorders, orthopedics, cardio-respiratory rehab, stroke rehab, pediatrics, geriatrics and burn patients.
For most injuries, such as back pain, neck pain, headaches, and ankle sprains, either would be sufficient to help you in the recovery process.
I'm not an athlete, can you still help?
Yes! We’re trained to work with anyone, regardless of age, background, sexual orientation or athletic ability. We work with athletes, office workers, car accident clients, or anyone hurt. If you’re new to exercise or moving in general, then we will start you at the beginning and progress you as far as you’re comfortable.
Is Athletic Therapy covered under insurance
There are a lot of plans that athletic therapy is covered under. We don’t fall under the “physiotherapy” blanket though, you will need to call your insurance provider to check your plan. Athletic Therapy may fall under general categories such as “Rehabilitation” or “Health care spending account” on your own plan, so if you’re unsure, you should contact your insurance company to inquire. If you don’t have AT coverage, you may have massage therapy coverage and Daryl can work with you through that
Do you provide kinesology for ICBC?
Yes! While we are athletic therapists by trade, we provide active rehab as a part of your recovery team for car accidents. We direct bill ICBC on your behalf and tailor a treatment plan that works for you. More information is under our ICBC active rehab page
