You get a unique experience on your health journey.
With us, you’re able to see one therapist for a massage but if you want exercises or eventually eat healthier for your body, you don’t have to see multiple people for that. Our clients love this unique advantage because your AT can provide relief with hands-on treatment but when and if you massage or eat better your therapist already knows you. You don’t have to see multiple people or figure out where to go. You’ve already built a relationship and they’ll have a better understanding of the approach that best suits your needs.
These are usually covered under insurance, you’ll just need to check your insurance coverage prior to your session.

Frequently asked questions
Athletic Therapy is a branch of therapy that specializes in your muscle, bones, and joints. We’re able to help you recover from an injury quickly and effective, it doesn’t matter if you’re an athlete or not! We can help you recover from a sports injury, picking up a toddler, or just from you working at a desk full-time. We does this by massage, joint mobilizations, exercise, and education! While there are many similarities with other therapeutic health professions, Athletic Therapy differs from them by specializing in musculocutaneous conditions and by holding exercise as its primary modality.
Athletic therapy and physiotherapy are very similar in terms of treatment and techniques used to treat an injury or illness. The main difference lies in their scope of practice and educational background.
An athletic therapist requires a 4-year bachelor’s degree to specialize in immediate care and prevention of musculoskeletal (muscle, bones, and joint) injuries.
On the other hand, physiotherapy is defined as the science of movement that focuses on the underlying physical issues to help recover, sustain and maximize an individual’s physical strength, mobility, function and overall well-being. In part, they seek out the root cause of an injury and treat it accordingly. This profession would require an additional 2-year Master’s degree and includes a much wider scope of training, including neurological disorders, orthopedics, cardio-respiratory rehab, stroke rehab, pediatrics, geriatrics and burn patients.
For most injuries, such as back pain, neck pain, headaches, and ankle sprains, either would be sufficient to help you in the recovery process.
We find it’s more about the person, rather than the designation. Choose a therapist that best fits your lifestyle and needs
There are a lot of plans that athletic therapy is covered under. We don’t fall under the “physiotherapy” blanket though, you will need to call your insurance provider to check your plan. Athletic Therapy may fall under general categories such as “Rehabilitation” or “Health care spending account” on your own plan, so if you’re unsure, you should contact your insurance company to inquire. If you don’t have AT coverage, you may have massage therapy coverage and Daryl can work with you through that
Not typically for your insurance plan but some require a doctors note. You’ll need to check with your insurance coverage prior to your session
Yes! We direct bill ICBC on your behalf and tailor a treatment plan that works for you. More information is under our ICBC active rehab page
Heck no! We’re trained to work with anyone, regardless of age, background, or your coordination. We work with athletes, office workers, car accident clients. If you’re new to exercises or moving in general, then we will start you at the beginning and progress you as far as your comfortable until you’re ready to not see us any more
