Becoming pain-free starts here

Successful recovery after an accident

After a motor vehicle accident (MVA) many people experience whiplash, headaches, neck, back, extremity and recurrent pain. You may also experience changes to their mental health. If you were involved in an MVA and have reported the incident to ICBC, you qualify for care at our ICBC Active Rehabilitation Clinic in Victoria

As of April 1, 2019, if you’ve been in a car accident and have an ICBC active claim number, you are pre-approved for 12 Active Rehabilitation sessions.

This means you have access to services such as Athletic Therapy and Active rehab right away and up to 12 weeks from the incident, no need to wait and get a Doctors note!

If after the 12 sessions you need continued care, we work with ICBC to ensure you get the care and attention you deserve until you’re at maximal recovery.

We do have an ICBC Massage Therapist and ICBC Massage Therapy services.

I have been to Daryl twice now and both visits left feeling so much better with long lasting effects as well. You don’t go to Daryl for a spa treatment massage you go to Daryl because he has an amazing understanding of the human body and can help you in healing. I have been having digestive issues and he helped tremendously. He asks all the right questions so he can address your specific situation. I’m sure he would do a spa type massage if that’s what you wanted but I highly recommend going to Daryl with any physical problems you may have. Stomach/Digestive. Headaches. Musculature. Joint. I believe he also does physio type treatment as well. Just ask.read more

Professional, approachable, knowledgeable, dependable and super friendly! Daryl has been the best addition to my self care routine I could have asked for. Originally I approached him for nutrition advice, the knowledge that he gave me was tailored to suit my needs, he never put me down when asking questions, and he provided me with the tools to make smart choices. His approach was super refreshing, even meeting me at Whole Foods to read labels/gather information and he made me excited to make positive changes in my diet. After being so thrilled with his nutritional advice, I couldn't help book him for a message session. He focused on my problem areas, made me feel really comfortable and equipment me with valuable stretches, information, and referrals. I will be booking him again, without hesitation. I am so happy I made the choice to invest in myself by booking with Sync Therapy! Please don't hesitate to contact to Daryl for any of his services, I can assure you that you will not be disappointed!read more

Daryl is great at what he does. I have been to a few RMTs in Victoria and I find him to be the best so far. Daryl has a background in sports injury so that really makes a difference in the service he provides. I came to him with a shoulder/rotator cuff injury and he not only helped relieve the pain in the area, he also recommended exercises and stretches to prevent further injury and strengthen the shoulder stabilizing muscles. Highly recommended, especially if you have sports related injuries.read more

Daryl is so supportive and so knowledgeable. I went to see him for Athletic Therapy, to help me train and prevent injury in preparation for a very physically demanding trip upcoming and he has been an amazing help getting me there. His approach is so natural and organic, I walked out of the initial assessment feeling like I had already accomplished something, and I was motivated and felt ready. I went home and told my partner that I had the best experience with a health care practitioner of my life. I highly highly recommend Daryl for a supportive, non judgemental approach to better yourself, physically and mentally. Thank you Daryl!read more

The Steps to a successful recovery

Step 1

Contact ICBC

First- if you’ve been injured in an accident the first step is to report your claim to ICBC. You can call them directly at ‘Dial–A-Claim’ 604-520-8222 or complete their easy online claims process.

Once you have your ICBC Insurance claim number you are eligible to start receiving Massage Therapy, Physiotherapy, Chiropractic, and Active Rehabilitation (Athletic Therapy) treatments for your injuries.

Regardless of who is at fault, all parties involved in an automobile accident are eligible for ICBC treatment benefits.

Step 1

Step 2

Get an effective treatment plan

The next step is to book an assessment or Call Us 250-812-8698 and get your treatments started right away. Our experienced recovery team will help walk you through the process of getting the necessary treatments needed to get you feeling better, fast.

We will require: (within our intake form)

1) First and Last Name

2) ICBC Insurance Claim number and adjustor name

3) MVA Date

Our goal is to get your treatments started within a few days of your accident since this helps improve your recovery time. *Please be aware that approval depends on the speed at which your ICBC Customer Claims Specialist (adjuster) responds to the request and may take longer than 72 hours.

You have 12 pre-approved treatments with our Massage Therapist and 12 treatments with our Athletic Therapist for ICBC active rehab, they have to be used within 12 weeks of the incident

Step 2

Step 3

Treatment costs covered

If your accident claim is approved by ICBC, your first 12 sessions are covered. We directly bill ICBC, so you don’t pay any upfront costs. Everybody recovers differently from an accident, it may require additional treatments after the 12 sessions. This is where we would work with your adjustor to figure out an effective plan

Step 3

Step 4

Remove the stress, focus on you

Let us take care of your health plan, paper work, and contacting ICBC. You focus what’s most important, you. Focus on your exercises, quality sleep, and quality foods to help with your recovery process

Step 4

Frequently Asked Questions

Most frequent questions and answers

Are ICBC Kinesiologists the only ones that do ICBC active rehab?

No! Our Certified Athletic Therapists are approved by ICBC to do Active rehab and take you through a thorough assessment to provide you with the safe and effective exercises

What should I wear to my active rehab session?

Wear comfortable clothes for exercising and closed toe shoes. We also recommended bringing a refillable water bottle.

What happens at the first active rehab session?

Your first appointment will be an assessment. Your Athletic Therapist will ask you a series of questions about your body, your injuries, medical history and your goals. Armed with this knowledge they will assess how well you move, your range of motion (flexibility), strengths, and posture and may have time to prescribe some exercises for you. The assessment normally last around 1-1.25 hours.

Do you work with personal injury lawyers

Yes! If you have a lawyer, have them contact our office. If you don’t have a lawyer, you can call us for recommendations to support your needs
